Applications are computer programs (software) that provide a user interface for people. Enterprise applications are different from desktop software such as word or excel. Enterprise applications are developed to perform a specific task such as record sales transactions or payroll. An application can be an App on a mobile device, an application accessed through a web browser or an application installed on a desktop.
